Job summary

A new year and a new People Services Team!

Our vision is to become a leading People Service in NHS Wales. Therefore, we have expanded our services and are recruiting to vacancies across a range of professional backgrounds, such as Employee Relations, Recruitment and Resourcing and Organisational Design.

We have established a central Health Board Case Management team to ensure our employee relations cases are managed fairly, compassionately and consistently. Our team Employment Relations specialists will provide expert advice and support to managers and staff across our Health Board, helping to deal with cases more timely and avoid unnecessary legal costs.

Our case specialist team is an integral part of our just and learning culture, where learning from errors is accepted practice and employees are not afraid to admit a mistake.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

Provide support, constructive challenge and specialist guidance to managers to ensure that people management is undertaken in a proactive and agreed manner.

Promote the development of an People service which fosters a 'customer service' focus.

To deputise for the Senior Case Management Specialist when required.

Support continuous improvement to people management practice through a lessons learnt approach, including help to managers for them put reasonable and appropriate measures in place to prevent employment relations cases occurring.

The post holder will have autonomy and work independently for the majority of the role with reference to senior support as required.

To ensure that any alleged or suspected cases of direct or indirect discrimination are managed in accordance with employment law and the relevant procedures and/or escalated appropriately.
