Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to undertake Band 7 Musculoskeletal Clinical Specialist roles within Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy teams in Wrexham and Flintshire.
Opportunities are available to work in the following specialist areas, to be agreed on appointment:
- CMATS - Clinical Musculoskeletal Assessment and Treatment Service
- FCP - First Contact Practitioners working within GP practice/Urgent Primary Care Centres (UPCC)
- Orthopaedic Clinic - working in trauma and Orthopaedic clinics alongside Orthopaedic Consultants and their teams.
- MSK Physiotherapy - each position includes time working within our musculoskeletal outpatient Physiotherapy departments.
Main duties of the job
The Post holder will be required to:
- Work as an autonomous, clinical specialist practitioner, with an extended scope of physiotherapy practice to work within a team to deliver a clinical specialist service to patients both in Primary Care and patients referred into the CMATS service.
- Support the delivery of the clinical services across the East Area in a variety of locations according to service demands, delivering a high quality service in line with the clinical governance.
- Take responsibility for the delivery and development of practice in the specialist area of Musculoskeletal medicine within physiotherapy.
Support and Development
- Training and support will be provided to develop skills in injection therapy, prescribing and non-medical imaging referral.
- Close links with Universities and opportunities for MSc level study.
- Advanced Practitioner support in CMATS, FCP and Physiotherapy.
- Working with GP with Special Interest in CMATS.
- Support from MSK Consultant Therapist.
- Opportunity to become a member of BCUHB Clinical Network Groups (CNGs) to drive service improvement and development.
- Regular clinical supervision and appraisal.
