Job summary
Are you interested in supporting people with dementia in their own community?
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated band 3 health care support worker to join us in the South Gwynedd older persons mental health team. The successful applicant will be enthusiastic, motivated, willing to work flexibly, and passionate about improving services for people with dementia. The post holder will be working closely with registered nurses to provide a service for people of all ages with dementia, including those of a younger age. This post is 30 hours per week, permanent contractThe ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post
Main duties of the job
The post holder will help facilitate the smooth running of the day unit, which provides day services to individuals with dementia.
The post holder will work occasionally without direct supervision in the community, however, will have telephone access to an identified qualified nurse for advice and guidance if undertaking outreach work.
The post holder will promote and hold a positive attitude to dementia care and ensure that individual needs for privacy, respect, dignity and confidentiality is maintained at all times.
The post holder carries out assigned tasks involving direct care to those who have memory difficulties as directed by the Qualified Nurse.
To undertake interventions with people with memory related problems sometimes working independently within the day care setting and occasionally within the persons own home if required
