Main duties of the job
An opportunity has arisen for a pharmacist with extensive leadership experience to join the west IHC as Director of Pharmacy & Medicines Management. The Director of Pharmacy & Medicines Management along with the Director of Operations, Medical Director, Nurse Director andDirector of Allied Health Professionals form the IHCs senior management team. The Pharmacy & Medicines Management Director will provide strategic, clinical and professional direction for the development and delivery of integrated pharmacy services, promoting access to medicines and supporting the improvement of safety and quality of patient care in primary, community and acute care. As a Director, you will also take responsibility for delivering programmes aligned to the IHC annual plan. The role is managerially accountable to the West Integrated Health Community Director with professional accountability to the Health Board's Chief Pharmacist.
Through collaborative leadership, you will lead an integrated team (145 members of staff) and deliver a vision for excellence in pharmaceutical care. We have an integrated pharmacy service including primary care, community services, acute hospital working alongside Community Pharmacy contractors.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
