Trainee band 6/7 Advanced Nurse Practitioner
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual to join the Trust's team of Advanced Clinical Practitioners within the trauma department at Wrexham Maelor Hospital
The successful candidate will be required to rapidly and continuously evaluate the patient's changing condition and responses to a range of pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapeutic interventions and will modify plans of care for optimal patient outcome. They will also be a source of support and education across the trauma wards for junior staff.
If you are an established or newly qualified Advanced Practitioner/Advanced Nurse Practitioner with experience in Trauma/ orthopaedics, is self motivated, and possesses excellent communication and clinical skills then we welcome an application from you to join our team.
The post holder will initially be expected to work closely with the nursing, junior medical staff, as well as with other members of the multi-professional team.
Based at: Wrexham Maelor Hospital
Main duties of the job
To be responsible for managing practice, using an advanced level of professional accountability, autonomy and judgement for highly complex decision-making across a broad range of situations/conditions encountered in Trauma patients. To work autonomously, using advanced knowledge and skills, underpinned by theory and experience, to holistically assess the identified patient caseload, using a range of methods across a broad range of, often complex, patient conditions. To plan and manage complete episodes of care, working in partnership with others, delegating and referring as appropriate, to optimise health outcomes and resource use, as well as providing direct support to patients and carers. Including complex discharge planning and End of life situations.
To propose and implement service and policy development and redesign, impacting beyond own area and other disciplines, informed by current best practice and evidence-base, in accordance with values-based care and UHD values To work in collaboration with the Trauma Assessment and Co-ordination Team (TACT) ensuring patients are fit for surgery, and compose theatre lists when required.
