Job summary

North East Flintshire Cluster is looking for experienced Psychotherapist to work as part of a team in the cluster.

The Cluster are looking to appoint 4 Psychotherapist to work 20 hours per week.

The post holder will be required to provide time-limited trauma informed counselling interventions in primary care settings for patients with problems arising from psychological trauma as part of cluster working within North East Flintshire GP practices.

This post is fixed term for 12 months to meet the needs of the service

Main duties of the job

  • To undertake a personal caseload and provide a counselling service.
  • To select, develop and deliver appropriate therapeutic interventions to meet clients' needs.
  • To receive and communicate highly complex and sensitive information to clients in situations which may be highly emotive.
  • To carry and manage own caseload, liaising regularly with Psychological Trauma team staff.
  • The post holder will be accountable for their own clinical decisions and professional actions, whilst equally obliged to consult appropriately with a clinical supervisor / clinical mentor.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

  • Diploma in Counselling or Psychotherapy as recognised by the British Association for Counselling Psychotherapy (BACP) or British Psychological Society (BPS) or UKCP or British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).

Desirable

  • Masters Level qualification in Counselling or Psychotherapy

Experience

Essential

  • Knowledge of a broad range of counselling / psychotherapy interventions and therapeutic techniques e.g. models of supportive, cognitive behavioural, brief intervention skills, focus groups.
  • Substantial experience of working safely with Trauma-related diagnosis
  • Working with and addressing issues of diversity
  • Receiving clinical supervision across a range of client needs

Desirable

  • Experience and or qualification in a range of therapeutic modalities e.g. supportive, cognitive behavioural, brief interventions skills, debriefing, mediation.
  • Experience of cognitive behavioural therapy interventions
