We are looking to appoint a POCT Manager for the Health Board, responsible for leading the service across North Wales. The POCT service supports a wide range of POCT methods across acute and community care including some services provided within Primary Care. The POCT team are based across the three acute sites within BCUHB and includes a range of HCPC or NMC registered staff as well as support staff.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
You would will be responsible for the operational planning and implementation of policies, procedures and guidance relating to POCT services across BCUHB and to manage and supervise the POCT Team across the Health Board.
You would input to and/or lead Health Board wide projects to develop safe POCT strategies to support clinical care, oversee the Clinical Governance of POCT services and ensure that they comply with local and national policies and objectives.
You would be expected to represent BCUHB at national and UK wide POCT groups, inputting to All Wales strategies and programmes and leading their implementation across the Health Board.
You need a BSc or equivalent qualification in Biomedical Science or Nursing and be HCPC or NMC registered with extensive post-registration experience in POCT. You will need to have significant relevant management experience working effectively in multi-disciplinary teams; you would need to have in-depth knowledge of POCT middleware and have experience in implementing new POCT methods.
We are looking for someone with enthusiasm, self-motivation and resilience, able to embrace change and be proactive. You will need to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
