Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible and motivated team player with excellent communication skills to provide clinical treatment in accordance with a Band C or Band B job description and Welsh Government (WG) policy.

To assist the CDS Clinical Director in the Operational Management of the Community Dental Service.Foster the complementary role of the North Wales Community Dental Service in accordance with WHC(2019)021 - Role and Remit of the Community Dental Service and Services for Vulnerable People.

In liaison with the CDS Clinical Director, to manage an agreed pan north Wales portfolio.To foster relationships with other relevant agencies within a geographic area and in relation to the Deputy Clinical Director's pan north Wales' portfolio.

To assist the CDS Clinical Director in the facilitation of administrative, clinical and organisational change.To assist in the provision of CDS training in liaison with other agencies as required..

Where the postholder is a GDC Specialist registrant, to lead in their specialised field within a defined area.

About us

North Wales Community Dental Service covers Flintshire, Wrexham, Denbighshire, Gwynedd and Anglesey.

We strive to provide excellent standards of care utilising a broad spectrum of skill mix, including Specialists in Special Care Dentistry, Paediatric Dentistry and Dental Public Health. Dentists with Special Interests and postgraduate qualifications; DCPs with post-certification qualifications and Direct Access Dental Therapists.

Conscious sedation (HIS & IV) is available across the clinic bases and GA services operate from our three acute sites - Bangor, Wrexham and Glan Clwyd. We host intermediate tier services in Oral Surgery, as well as providing Endodontic and Orthodontic services for CDS patients.

We are supported by a visiting Consultant in Paediatric Dentistry and have a close working relationship with local Restorative and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery colleagues being an active participant in the regional Oncology MDT. There is also representation on National bodies e.g. Clinical Directors Group, Special Care Dentistry Paediatric Dentistry, Dental Public Health/Epidemiology.

The NWCDS supports population oral health with a dedicated Oral Health Promotion Team providing National and local programmes.
