Job summary
CONSULTANT STROKE PHYSICIAN
Applications are invited for this new 7 - 10 session new Consultant posts based in the Stroke Department at Wrexham Maelor Hospital. The appointee will join eight consultant colleagues in the Care of the Elderly Department. The post has arisen from a need to reconfigure and strengthen our existing services. There is currently a Health Board wide review looking at establishing a hyperacute stroke unit which is ongoing.
We realise that traditional daytime working patterns will not suit every applicant. We would welcome applicants who may wish to work part time or annualised hours. We provide a broad range of sub-specialities and would welcome a successful applicant's choice of their exact job plan.
We welcome colleagues that want to take part in our GIM medical take but this is not mandatory
Main duties of the job
You are required to be on the Specialist Register, have CCST's in Geriatric Medicine (and or Stroke Medicine) and GIM or recognised equivalent or be within 6 months of obtaining it at the time of interview.
The successful candidates will join the amended Welsh Consultant Contract. In addition Consultants will be eligible for Commitment Awards up to a maximum of £24,410 per annum.
