Do you enjoy teaching and mentoring others and still want to do the GP day job?.....................Then this could be the role for you!

Become part of the Team in shaping the future of Primary Care and Community Services in North West Wales.

The Primary and Community Care Academy in North Wales in partnership with Hwb Iechyd Eifionydd is developing a Multi Disciplinary Practitioner Training Hub in rural north Wales. We have two sites situated in the coastal towns of Porthmadog and Criccieth, both towns have some the most amazing beaches, hills, sunsets and sunrises Wales has to offer. However, it isn't just the scenery that is great about working in Porthmadog and Criccieth, it is the team at the Health Centre and our shared vision for sustainable primary care services in north wales and the importance of education and training in delivering that vision.

Hwb Iechyd Eifionydd is already actively training multi-disciplinary team practitioners and is now extending its training team in partnership with the Primary and Community Care Academy to offer a range of training and learning and mentoring opportunities for the current and next generation of primary and community care practitioners.

Main duties of the job

The Training Team will also include non-medical professionals including a Pharmacist and Nurse. The Team will work collaboratively to deliver the range of training, education and skills enhancement opportunities at the Health Centre, regionally as members of the Academy faculty and will actively promote and undertake clinical research at the practice.

The job plan will include protected / dedicated sessions for the clinical and educational supervision of a small cohort of trainees, this will/may include Medical Students, Physician Associates, Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioners and GP Trainees, don't worry if you are not a GP Trainer, we will support you to become one.

This is a portfolio role and we would also be looking for the successful applicant to undertake clinical sessions in the Health Centre. We welcome your application for full or part time hours but are looking for a minimum commitment of 2 days per week as a clinical supervisor as you will be looking after our medical students in the first instance.

We offer a salary in line with the DDRB scale and the associated benefits of being an employee of the Health Board including Annual Leave, Study Leave, CPD along with the opportunity to be part of a fantastic GP practice and team.
