We are looking for a passionate clinical leader that has the skills to be able to lead clinical colleagues across Wales in challenge led innovation. Working with business and academia to develop innovative technology solutions to real world health problems and challenges.
You will need to combine your clinical expertise and your enthusiasm to deliver change in health driving forward the SBRI Centre of Excellence's agenda.
Main duties of the job
As part of the Senior Team in the Health Board, the Chief Medical Innovation Lead (CMIL) communicates, interprets and translates clinician and patient/citizen needs and in turn improves clinicians' and patients' understanding of Innovations and manages their expectations of potential solutions (Digital or non digital). The CMIL therefore supports the development of a clinically-orientated Strategy for the SBRI Centre of Excellence. They also contribute to and inform Informatics elements of the Health Boards Integrated Medium Term Plan (IMTP) and the Informatics Operational plan.
The CMIL will be well versed with strategic direction and will work with a variety of stakeholders to ensure that the benefits available through high levels of clinical engagement are achieved. The post holder will manage conflicting views on priorities and preferences and will be the voice of the clinician and will support clinical understanding and alignment with Welsh Government Strategy and NHS Wales Plans
The CMIL promotes clinical engagement in the challenge led innovation change programme and improved understanding of SBRI and innovation within the Health Boards across Wales through liaison and influence.
