Job summary

Are you reliable, hardworking and take pride in keeping environments clean and safe? We are looking for a Facilities Operative to join our dedicated Facilities team, helping to maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety across Health Board premises. The hours are 12.5 per week to be worked 16:30 - 19:00, Monday to Friday. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

As a Facilities Operative you will play an essential role in providing a clean, safe and welcoming environment for staff, patients and visitors. Working with minimal supervision, you will carry out a wide range of cleaning duties in line with national standards, infection control requirements and Health & Safety policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning clinical and non-clinical areas including offices, kitchens and toilet facilities
  • Mopping, vacuuming, damp dusting and waste disposal
  • Safe use of cleaning chemicals and equipment in line with COSHH regulations
  • Completing cleaning records and audit documentation
  • Maintaining stock levels and reporting faulty equipment
  • Supporting and mentoring new staff where required
  • Ensuring a safe and secure environment at all times

  • Knowledge gained on corporate and local facilities induction and completion of internal training programme over a 12 week period (1 week departmental training with further 2 weeks on the job training)
  • Working knowledge of procedures and equipment relevant to post

  • Knowledge of Infection Control Policy, Guidelines and Procedures
