Job summary
To provide a comprehensive range of specialised ophthalmic imaging services as part of the ABUHB ophthalmic imaging team, supporting diagnosis, clinical assessment, documentation, education, publication, research, and medico-legal requirements.
o To provide a wide range of specialist ophthalmic image photography, including but not exclusive to:
FFA and ICGOCT & OCTAOptosCorneal TopographyStereo ImagingFundal Photography, including autofluorescenceAnterior Segment PhotographyPhotography of the external eye and Ocular Adnexa (DSLR)
o To work without direct supervision providing a high quality service of diagnostic imaging for children andadult patients across a variety of sub-specialitieso Work closely with members of the multi-disciplinary teams.o The post holder will work within standard operating procedures, departmental guidelines and protocols, usually withoutdirect supervision.o The post holder will work within a variety of ophthalmology clinics to meet the needs of the service.
oProvides technical support where appropriate
o Supports the development of ophthalmic imaging service at large. including suggesting and implementing changes to policy and service.
Main duties of the job
Undertake all elements of ophthalmic imaging. Contribute to service needs, adapt to service changes, and support the technical requirements and ongoing development of the service.
As part of the senior team, support, mentor, and train Associate Practitioners and Ophthalmic Technicians.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
