An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Breast Care Nurse to join our small but well established Breast CNS teams within our established Unified Breast Unit situated in Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr.

Please note, the post holder will be expected to work across all Health Board sites as part of their working week. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
As a key worker, you will be primarily involved in the management of suspected and confirmedbreast cancer patients from initial investigations though to diagnosis and treatment. Under the supervision of the senior CNS team, you will be expected to provide high quality care to our patients during all stages of their pathway and be involved with and action referrals on to other professionals for more specialist guidance, support, advice or counselling. The post holder will be an active member of the multi-disciplinary team and will play a supportive role to ensure the team complies with local and national policy and guidelines, clinical governance and Peer Review. You will work collaboratively with referring clinicians and all members of the extended multi-disciplinary team. Under the guidance of the senior CNS team, you will provide support to the nurse led clinics, ensuring excellent co-ordination and management of the cancer pathway. You will undertake Holistic Needs Assessments (HNAs/e-HNAs) as part of your role. You need to possess excellent communication skills and an ability to competently and confidently influence others in the provision of high standards of care for our patients and their families.
