Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic team within Aneurin Bevan University Health Board. This is an exciting opportunity to support and develop homecare medicines management services and prescribing support across the Health Board.
You will work closely with pharmacy and clinical teams to ensure timely access to medicines for patients, contribute to service development, and provide ward-based medicines management. The role also includes dispensing, accuracy checking, and supporting procurement processes.

Main duties of the job
- Assist in the provision and development of homecare services and prescribing support.
- Support clinical verification of homecare prescriptions across defined specialties.
- Accurately dispense and check prescriptions for inpatients, outpatients, and discharge.
- Provide ward-based medicines management and patient counselling.
- Contribute to audits, financial monitoring, and cost improvement strategies.
- Contribute to the development of a robust process to reclaim costs associated with off-contract purchases.
- Train and supervise pharmacy technicians, trainees, and support staff.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Flexible to meet the needs of the service, adaptable, and highly motivated.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
