CAMHS BOOST Support Worker (Bolstering Our Outreach Scope & Tasks)

Job summary

BOOST is a team developed to provide a responsive, hands on support service to Young People struggling with a range of mental health problems. The post holder will work into one of the Integrated Children And Adolescents Mental Health Service Teams ( ICAMHS) for 60% of the clinical working week. This team will be identified upon successful appointment. During this time, the post holder will implement care plans , as prescribed by the multi-disciplinary team , the Registered Practitioner; the young person and their parent/guardian. The role will be over seen by the allocated Clinical Practitioner and job planned; supported by our clinical model: CAPA (Choice & Partnership Approach) . The remaining 40% will require the post holder to work into ICAMHS Emergency Pathway. This entails working into Ty Fforest, which is a new unit for Young People presenting with an emerging crisis, and offering a service wide response/support . The post holder, will work in a wide range of therapeutic settings, which will involve travelling Pan Gwent.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be required to offer individual and group work. This work will be therapeutic and tailored to the young person experiencing psychological and emotional distress and their families. Other duties also include : To work within a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT ) Referring to internal and external agencies and professionals, Attending regular MDT, formulations and consultations. To work closely and deliver therapeutic intervention to Young People presenting with a range of mild to severe complex Mental Health needs and disorders Work across Part 1 and 2 of the Mental Health services within ICAMHS Be familiar with observing, assessing and sharing risk Hold knowledge and feel confident with identifying and reporting any Safeguarding concerns Assist in the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of Young People and their families. Weekend/evening working will be required.
