Job summary

Health Care Support Worker - PICU Mental Health Ward

We are looking for a caring and conscientious Health Care Support Worker to join our Mental Health Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) based at St Cadocs Hospital. The PICU is a locked 9 bedded unit for males and females. Flexible working patterns are available, including the option for 12 hour shifts.

The post holder will work as part of a multi disciplinary team and under the supervision of senior practitioners will assist in the provision of care and treatment to service users.

The role of the Care Support worker is to provide support, give time to an allocated group of service users with complex needs and assist in programmes supporting their recovery during their stay on the unit. The post holder will assist the multi-disciplinary team in providing innovative approaches, which promote recovery and social inclusion for service users.

Main duties of the job

Currently we are unable to provide certificates of sponsorship for this role as it does not meet the Home Office's criteria. Anyone requiring a certificate of sponsorship is therefore unable to be shortlisted and interviewed.

The post holder will be expected to act at all times within the guidelines of the patient's care plan and within the supervision of senior support and or professional in charge.
