Job summary

Aneurin Bevan University Health Board has recently acquired funding to expand its current provision for adult Eating Disorders Services across Gwent. The additional funding will enable the Specialist Eating Disorders Service to offer early intervention and treatment to adults living with an eating disorder. As part of this exciting development an opportunity has arisen for a Team Support Worker to join the service on a fixed term 2 year contract.

The Specialist Eating Disorders Service are looking to recruit a Team Support Worker to assist in the provision and delivery of an evidenced based service under the indirect supervision of registered practitioners. The Team Support Worker will work collaboratively with the service to facilitate the delivery of a high quality service to service users and their families/carers in Aneurin Bevan University Health Board.

This post is fixed term for 2 years to meet the needs of the service.

Main duties of the job

The principle role of the team support worker is to assist the Eating Disorder Team, in the provision and delivery of an evidenced based service to service users with an eating disorder as well as their carer's and the professionals involved in their care under.This includes:

  • Taking physical or psychological measurements from named service users as delegated by the team
  • The post holder will also be required to support service users in the service who require nutritional refeeding either at home or in hospital.
  • Undertaking specified and delegated clinical and therapeutic activities.
  • Under the supervision of healthcare professionals assist the Eating Disorders Team with the planning, organising and provision of clinical care.
  • Ensuring high standards are maintained in a safe environment which promotes equality and sensitivityfor all individuals,
  • Assisting Registered Professionals in the implementation and evaluation of individualised care plans.
  • Accurately recording service user information,
  • Provides support and supervision to other colleagues and learners as appropriate.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
