Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Health Care Support Worker to join our Caerphilly School Nursing Team, working 22.5 hours per week, all year round. This is a peripatetic role covering the whole of Caerphilly borough with one day per week working with the School Nursing Team at Rhymney Integrated Health and Social Care Centre.
This role is to work under the supervision of the Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (School Nurse) by contributing to the delivery of the Healthy Child Wales Programme, Child Measurement Programme, Vision Screening programme within the allocated teams/ boroughs and supporting the school based immunisation programme Gwent wide.
It is desirable that the successful candidate has experience of working in a similar role, however, full training will be given.Experience of workingwith children and /or community experience is also an advantage.
The successful candidate must be flexible to the needs of the service and able to meet the geographical defines of the role.
Main duties of the job
As a member of the school nursing service you will be required to work in a variety of community settings in order to provide both clerical support as well as assigned clinical tasks involving direct contact with and care of school age children under the direction of the Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (School Nurse) and other qualified staff.
