Job summary

  • To provide a full range of administrative support to the Primary Care Contracting Team in delivering the primary care functions of the Local Health Board including implementation of the General Medical Services (GMS), General Dental Services (GDS), General Ophthalmic Services (GOS) and Community Pharmacy Services.

  • To coordinate and support the delivery of the Directorate work programme

  • Ensuring administrative systems and processes within the Directorate are operated effectively to deliver directorate objectives

Main duties of the job

To support the Directorate in securing an ongoing improvement in the organisation, development and delivery of services in Primary Care by:

  • Providing support to monitor contracts across all Primary Care functions, this includes GMS, GDS, GOS and Community Pharmacy across ABUHB.

  • Supporting the Primary Care Contracting Team in monitoring the contractual obligations under GMS, GDS, GOS and Community Pharmacy. Analysing documents to ensure appropriate information is received

  • Supporting the Primary Care Contracting Team with the monitoring of complaints and concerns. Taking responsibility to collate relevant paperwork and circulate in a timely manner and in line with Health Board policy and procedures.

  • Creating and maintaining data collection systems, in respect of the GMS, GDS, GOS and Community Pharmacy contracts.

  • Establishing and monitoring a system to ensure all staff in the Directorate participate in the personal development and objective setting process.

  • Managing the process for all Primary Care Contractors across the ABUHB region in relation to Interpreter Services and processing invoices via Oracle.

  • Provide non-clinical advice and guidance to patients/general public in relation to Primary Care queries, referring to clinical/Medical staff where appropriate.

  • To coordinate and support project meetings ensuring agendas and papers are circulated in a timely manner and taking accurate minutes or action notes.
