Job summary
The Rehabilitation Assistant assists with specific therapeutic duties, and the implementation of patient rehabilitation programmes, planned and supervised by a fractured neck of femur advanced nurse practitioner or qualified therapist. The post holder will be expected to complete the relevant level of competency programmes for physiotherapy and occupational therapy to enable them to fulfil this role. The post holder will be expected to fulfil administrative duties such as data inputting for national audit.
Main duties of the job
This is an exciting opportunity for you to join our busy hip and fragility fracture team as a Band 3 Rehabilitation assistant.
We are looking for compassionate, enthusiastic staff with a flexible approach to join our friendly, motivated teams.
You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient focused attitude.
An emphasis on optimising the patient's rehabilitation potential through nutrition, mobility, stimulation, and increasing confidence is essential to enable the aim of this predominately elderly group of patients to return to their usual residence to be realised.
The post will be based at the Royal Gwent Hospital.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
