An exciting career opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic pharmacist to join the Nevill Hall Hospital Pharmacy team. Key attributes include excellent communication skills, team management experience, and the ability to inspire and motivate staff. While the ability to speak Welsh is desirable, both Welsh and English speakers are welcome to apply. Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialist clinical pharmacy services to patients, medical, and nursing staff in accordance with legal and professional standards.
- Provide ward-based medicines management services to specialist clinical areas.
- Supervise and support junior pharmacists, pre-registration pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and pharmacy assistants.
- Review and assess patient prescriptions for legality, accuracy, safety, and appropriateness.
- Compile patient drug histories and assess clinical conditions to identify and solve medicines-related problems.
- Advise patients on the safe use of medicines and promote evidence-based prescribing.
- Provide medication discharge services, ensuring timely and efficient processes.
- Participate in dispensary rotas, including late nights, bank holidays, and weekends.
- Undertake continuing professional development and participate in the pharmacy emergency duty service.
