My Support Team (MyST) is a highly innovative Gwent-wide regional mental health service for children and young people who are looked after and have complex mental health and social needs. We are a multiagency multidisciplinary service which works in partnership to meet young people's mental health needs. We are a thriving, well established psychological service who are looking for an innovative driven psychologist to join our team.

Main duties of the job

Roles involve clinically leading on assessments, formulations & practice, providing clinical supervision & reflective practice groups, training & supporting others' development, clinical audit & research, advising on multiagency panels & about the development of the service. Also, direct practice & development of specialisms in psychological therapies, strong CPD, working alongside other MyST Clinical Psychologists and healthy interface with other areas of psychological service provision in ABUHB.

We have additional hours available that we can consider adding to this role. The hours will be working into Forensic Psychology.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Honours degree in Psychology.
  • Eligibility for Graduate Membership of the British Psychological Society (BPS)
  • Doctorate in Psychology, accredited by the BPS, or equivalent accredited by the BPS

Desirable

  • Other related academic qualifications e.g., Masters in Systemic Family Therapy, Accreditation in DDP, DBT, ACT.
  • Training in clinical supervision
  • I.T. skills training
  • Completion of a post-qualification advanced training in a formal psychological therapy.
  • A post graduate research degree.
  • Completed or undergoing training in the development and management of clinical psychology or young people's services.

Experience

Essential

  • Three-year Doctorial training across a range of client groups but must include Children, Adults, people with a Learning Disability and Older Age Adults.
  • Substantial post qualification clinical experience of working with young people or young adults with a mental health disorder.
  • Has completed at least 10 training days per year, on courses relevant to the provision of Adolescent/Young Adult Services.
  • Has kept up to date on current clinical practice in Clinical Psychology and in Adolescent/Young Adult Services.

Desirable

  • Experience of leading on an aspect of service development in a multi-agency/disciplinary setting.
  • Experience of working in a multi-agency/disciplinary team
  • Experience of working with young people in Local Authority care.
  • To have obtained further experience of working within other Clinical Psychology specialities e.g. Adult Services or Learning Disability Services.
