Applications are invited for the position of Senior Clinical Fellow in Trauma and Orthopaedics from February 2025
This post would suit applicants who have completed core surgical training and preferably have undertaken at least 4 years of registrar level training. Post-holders must have completed FRCS/MRCS and ATLS. FRCS (Tr&Orth) or equivalent will be needed for this senior registrar-level post
Working at senior SpR level, the post-holder will be attached to a consultant firm rotating every 6 months. All consultants are subspecialists and the surgical experience gained will be equivalent to a training post. These posts are appropriate and approved for NTN trainees by the Deanery.

Main duties of the job
The progressive department is staffed by 30 Consultants which includes the past President of British Foot and Ankle Society, past President of British Shoulder and Elbow Society, ex-Educational Representative of British Orthopaedic Trainee's Association, FRCS examiners and current Treasurer of the British Association of Spinal Surgeons. Other staff include 7 SAS, 19 Specialist Registrars (ST3+ and Senior Clinical Fellows), 4 Core Surgical Trainees, 6 FP2 and 16 Clinical Fellows (CT Level).
This position involves Regulated Activity withchildren and adultsas defined by the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act (amended by the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012) and the following checks will be undertaken following any conditional offer:
- Enhanced check with barred list information, including an adults and children's barred list check
Applicants must hold or be eligible to hold full registration and a licence to practice with the GMC.Course Funding: Please note that unless agreed by the Division in advance, course funding is not available for Clinical Fellow or fixed term cover for training grades.
