Job summary
The post-holder will be expected to support the Endoscopy Scheduling team across all sites. The post-holder will be required to make, amend and cancel appointments, handle straightforward queries. The role will range from processing referral letters, updating waitinglist entries, making calls to patients, answering telephone calls, booking appointments using the Myrddin Patient Administration System and using direct and partial booked appointments and also utilising the Endoscopy booking system. The post holder will also be required to carry out reception duties such as preparation of notes and admitting patients when they arrive for their appointment.

Main duties of the job
- To provide and receive sensitive information to/from patients about their appointment via the telephone.
- Action referrals ensuring carrying out requested instructions whilst maintaining high utilisation of Endoscopy sessions.
- Ensure that Endoscopy List capacity is utilised to the maximum. Any underutilised to be reported immediately to the line manager.
- Deal with telephone queries from both internal and external agencies in a professional manner in accordance with Data Protection and statutory policies and procedures. Escalate to Referral and Booking Centre Clerk in accordance with policy.
- Ensure that any patient demographic changes are made at the time of the call.
- Responsible for updating all waiting list entries.
- be welcoming and professional when admitting patients for their appointments.
- Reception administration to be carried out daily i.e note preparation and list checks.
