Job summary
We have the opportunity for a nurse experienced in caring for cancer patients to join our acute oncology service for 10-12 months. You will join a team who provide rapid services to our unplanned cancer admissions, resulting in significant improvement in holistic patient care, length of stay and patient experience. The roles provide a unique opportunity for motivated nurses who are forward thinking to shape and innovate acute oncology services.
The role will be pan Gwent and cover, Royal Gwent hospital, The Grange University Hospital, Nevill hall and YYF
As a post holder you will be supported to develop both clinical and managerial knowledge
Secondment for 11 months to meet the needs of the service

Main duties of the job
You will be a clinical nurse with theoretical and practical knowledge in the management of emergencies and cancer.
You will provide
Rapid intervention where applicable
Admission avoidance where possible and earlier discharge
Improved access to specialist oncology services
Reduction in unnecessary investigations
Improved patient experience
