Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to work within the Estates & Facilities Division and as such we are looking to appoint a highly motivated and conscientious individual to work as a Senior Estates Design Officer (Building).
The post holder will be required to develop, design and manage schemesfrom inception/feasibility through to post project evaluation. The post holder should also possess the skills and ability for the day-to-daymanagement of external multi-disciplinary consultancy teams from within the construction industry as required and making judgements on a widerange of complex estate issues, including design issues taking into account legislation and conflicting demands.
The post holder will be expected to work on a wide range of Capital schemes from medium size to multi pound developments for the HealthBoard, additionally, there will be a requirement to assist other Capital Estate Design Officers in an advisory role.
Main duties of the job
To develop, plan and day to day management of Health Board Capital projects, liaising with contractors, stakeholders and suppliers in order tomeet project requirements, budget limits and time frame deadlines.
To be proficient in the use of CAD/BIM to produce technical drawings as well as other packages.
To check and record compliance with current Construction Design and Management Regulations (CDM), building and planning regulations andany other statutory framework regulations, emergency and contingency plans and arrangements and any subsequent revisions, amendments oralterations.
To manage and ensure clear communication, discussions and workshops relating to schemes with department managers and manage usergroups. Such requirements are in an advisory and professional role and may be detailed to include the Planning and Building Regulationrequirements, the site supervision of schemes together with the preparation of the final accounts, and the subsequent post project evaluation.
To manage the procurement and construction of delegated capital schemes throughout the Health Board. The delegated budgets for theseschemes range from local projects costing several thousands of pounds up to major capital schemes costing millions of pounds.
