Job summary
To support the Audiology Team and contribute to the smooth daily operation of the Audiology Service.
To support patients in their hearing aid management, repairs hearing aids and other clinical & administrative duties as noted in the job description.
This post is fixed term for 12 months due to meet the needs of the service

Main duties of the job
To carry out initial triaging patients, to offer advice and resolve issues or refer patients on for face-to-face appointments.
To prepare clinic rooms, calibrate equipment, clean and disinfect reusable items of Audiological equipment
To assess the requirements of hearing aid patients in repair clinics at the base hospital. To assist the patients where possible and refer to an Audiologist as required.
To replace faulty hearing aids brought in to repair clinics by patients. To re-programme replacement digital hearing aids to previous settings using computer.
To examine outer and middle ear, advising patients of any impacted wax. To re-tube and modify ear moulds using drilling and grinding equipment.
To carry out minor repairs to faulty hearing aids and ear moulds sent in by post. To replace hearing aids as necessary.
To provide information and advice on hearing aid handling skills for new and existing hearing aid users.
To carry out follow up reviews for patients recently fitted with hearing aids.
To carry out a monthly stock take of hearing aids to be used to calculate monthly stock order.
To carry out basic air conduction hearing tests for existing hearing aid users through scheduled appointments.
