Job summary

An excellent opportunity has arisen to join the service management team within the Digital, Data & Technology Directorate as Digital Services Change Manager.

Aneurin Bevan University Health Board (ABUHB) has a large and complex digital service estate that underpins the delivery of digital health care. We support around 16,000 users and over 200 services across more than 120 sites.

The adoption and expectations placed upon digital healthcare are expected to grow substantially over the next 5 years as the health board adopts mobility both in primary and secondary care settings.

You will be responsible for the overall performance monitoring, evaluation, and review of the ITIL Change Enablement Practice through the management of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Critical Success Factors (CSF).

As part of this role you may be required to participate in the department on call rota dealing with potential management escalations.

Main duties of the job

You will have specific responsibility for ensuring requested changes and releases of applications, services and infrastructure into the production environment are risk minimised, controlled and communicated. This is to be achieved by:

  • Taking ownership of the change enablement policy, process and procedures ensuring that they are regularly reviewed and fit for purpose, and aligned with ITIL Change Enablement best practice.
  • Managing the creation, scheduling, approval and successful release of requests for change (RFC), ensuring minimum impact to live service performance.
  • Chairing the Digital Services Change Advisory Board with relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintaining the forward schedule of change and communicating to the organisation and 3rd party suppliers.

You will need be an excellent communicator and influencer, allowing you to build and maintain strong relationships within the Directorate, and with the wider Health Board and 3rd party suppliers. This will allow you to manage, implement and maintain standardised ways of working by applying the principles of the ITIL framework.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
