Job summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic developer to work within the Software Development Team. We are looking for a self-starting individual with the ability to deal with accelerated learning and build high quality software within an agile environment.
As a member of the dynamic and innovative Digital, Data & Technology Department, you will work with colleagues in the Software Development Team supporting the delivery of projects that form part of the digital platform, as well as integration projects, to allow data to be shared between national, Health Board wide and departmental systems.
The role will allow you to build on your current skills and experience and provide you with opportunities for personal and professional development. You will work with a wide range of stakeholders from varying professions across the health board. If you are looking for a new challenge in a prosperous department then one of these roles is for you.
Main duties of the job
Knowledge, Training and Experience
Specialist knowledge of:
- At least one modern programming language
- OOP techniques, SOLID principles, Software design patterns and development best practices
- Database query languages
- Software development life cycle
- Source control
Knowledge of the following would be advantageous :
- Application development using C# within the .NET framework using .Net Core, ASP.Net Web API and MVC.
- Windows Service development
- TSQL and application development using Microsoft SQL Serve
- IDEs (Integrated Development Environment)
- Applicable standards and frameworks
- Operating systems e.g. Windows PC, mobile and serve
- Experience in the use of Agile methodologies
- Resolve complex service issues and ability to escalate when required to senior members of the team
- Respond to and co-ordinate the solution of user problems, in conjunction with customers, Informatics staff and third-party supplier of goods and services
- Develop and maintain a knowledge of relevant NHS clinical and business processes
- A knowledge of the service delivery needs of ABUHB
- Have an understanding of service management functions and processes
- Create, maintain, update and publish Software Development documentation
- Create, maintain update and publish operational procedures for support staff
- Create, maintain, update and publish to configuration management systems, including change control
