Main duties of the job

We are looking for a speech and language therapy assistant for a permanent 0.6 wte position (22.5 hours/week) within the Community children's speech and language therapy team. The role, at present, is based in our Caerphilly Community team covering Denscombe and Trethomas clinics(although all staff are expected to work flexibly in the department to meet the needs of the population).

Aneurin Bevan University Health Board Speech and Language Therapy department has over 80 therapists and assistants working with a range of people with a range of speech, language and communication difficulties.

You will have:

  • well developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • a basic knowledge of speech, language and communication difficulties and the role of a speech and language therapist
  • experience of working within a team

The post holder will be organised, enthusiastic and committed to personal development. The role will involve supporting the Speech and Language Therapists with both clinical and non-clinical tasks, and working across clinic, home and educational settings. We support flexible working arrangements.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers
