Job summary

We have a vacancy for a Band 2 Pharmacy Stores Clerk to work within our Pharmacy Department at the Royal Gwent Hospital. We are looking for a conscientious and adaptable individual with excellent interpersonal, analytical and communication skills to join the already established team.

The successful candidate will assist in processing invoices for payment, electronic download of invoicing data, liaising with suppliers to organise credits and debits and providing procurement and financial information to managers and colleagues.

Candidates must be computer-literate and be able to quickly learn to use computer systems to undertake day-to-day tasks in an accurate and efficient manner.

RGH is an 450-bed hospital situated in Newport, just 11 miles from Cardiff and close to the Brecon Beacons and South Wales coastline. We are a forward thinking and innovative department. Pharmacy enjoys excellent multidisciplinary links within the Health Board and we deliver clinical services to a wide range of specialties and are committed to the professional development of our strong team.

Main duties of the job

To process invoice payments, using the pharmacy computer system both accurately and efficiently and in accordance with departmental procedures.

To undertake a range of clerical duties including word processing, photocopying, record keeping, filing and faxing.

To provide clerical support to the procurement section covering all aspects of medicines procurement process.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
