Band 5 Dietitian / Nutritionist - 6 month post supporting ABUHB's Dietetic Public Health Team.

We have a great opportunity for a Band 5 Dietitian / Nutritionist to become a valued member of our Public Health Dietetics Team.
The post holder will provide highly skilled specialised support under the direction of a senior dietitian supporting the community nutrition and dietetic community education programme. This role will involve working with schools, communities, families, groups and with carers across the age range from birth to older adults. Currently this is being developed to be delivered in both a face to face virtually and within community.
This post is currently based in Caerleon House, Cleppa Park, Newport but covers the full ABUHB geographic area.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will have their own case load of clients and work with a wide range of organisations in a complex community environment. The post holder will provide highly skilled specialised support under the direction of a senior dietitian supporting the community nutrition and dietetic community education programme.
This role provides support to the registered Dietitian in assessment of local needs, developing the skills of local partners to facilitate improvements in nutrition status of the local population, and monitoring and quality assurance. The post holder will work in accordance with the British Dietetic Association code of professional conduct for Dietetic Assistants and the NHS Wales Code of Conduct and Code of Practice. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working with communities, an understanding of the social determinants of health and of their impact on nutrition status.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
