Job summary
As the Senior Nurse (SN) Immunisation and vaccination you will work alongside the existing SN, to implement the National Immunisation Framework for Wales. You will be required to provide strategic direction, review governance and represent the Health Board's immunisation nurse services at national meetings.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
You will lead the primary care immunisation team in supporting immunisation services across primary care and other divisions, providing clinical advice and guidance as required. The SN acts at the immunisation Coordinator for the Health Board working closely with other immunisation leads locally and nationally. The team provide education and training for immunisers across the Health Board.

- The post holder will provide leadership for the development of the immunisation and vaccination services across ABuHB through the implementation of the Local Delivery Plan to achieve the Welsh Governments Annual Operating Framework Immunisation targets.
- To ensure there is a routine system for information on unimmunised children and adults to be provided to health professionals for priority follow-up.
- Identify training needs in Immunisation services and play a key lead role in ensuring the provision and delivery of training.
- Develop and implement local operational policies and procedures to ensure best practice for Immunisation.
- Participate in the On call system for the Division.
