Job summary

This role supports clinical nurse specialists within General Surgery, across Aneurin Bevan University Health Board booking patients into appointments, typing clinic letters and providing administrative support to the wider team.

We require someone who has excellent communication, administrative, clerical and IT skills to become a member of this dynamic team. You will need to demonstrate the ability to prioritise your own workload and show initiative to ensure that lean working is carried out across the service.

Knowledge of internal NHS systems such as WPAS, CWS, G2 and MedSecs is desirable, but training can be provided to the successful candidate

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

To provide a quality service to the Directorate, ensuring all hip and knee and other follow-up appointments are booked correctly and efficiently in a timely manner in accordance with Health Board's Policies and Procedures and to ensure that all outcomes are recorded.

To provide comprehensive and efficient secretarial and administrative support to the General Surgery team. To perform accurately any function requested of them to assist the department to run efficiently, with appropriate training.

To manage own workload to defined departmental policies and procedures, a manager will be available for reference when required.
