Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen, for a suitably qualified individual, within the highly specialised Sexual Health Outreach Team within the Directorate of Sexual and Reproductive Health at the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board. The post is a 30 hour post, the applicant must meet the essential criteria for interview and be flexible to meet the needs of the service and young people of Gwent. The successful candidate will also form part of the multidisciplinary team within the directorate.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

  • 1-2-1 work with young people
  • Multi agency working for the safety of YP
  • Prevention work
  • Education work
  • Signposting and referring to partner agencies
  • Attendance at core groups
  • Safeguarding Young People
  • Working alongside health professionals in the termination service
  • Promoting positive sexual health and wellbeing
  • Safeguarding YP and the community
  • Liaise with services
  • Attend regular team meetings, 1-2-1s and supervision
  • Appropriate record keeping needed
  • Liase with sexual health clinics to arrange appts for contraception
  • Sexual Health testing/ preg testing
