Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time (30 hours) Professional Lead Occupational Therapist to complete a scoping exercise which explores the role of Occupational Therapy within Primary Care Mental Health Services. Alongside this scoping role, the successful candidate will provide specialist assessment, differential diagnosis, advice, and intensive intervention for people accessing Primary Care Mental Health Services, including further developing the delivery of the Recovery Through Activity Programme. They will also provide professional supervision for the Primary Care practitioners who are registered as occupational therapists, inclusive of an occupational therapy support worker, within the service.
As well as being a valued member of the Primary Care Mental Health Services high intensity team, the postholder will form part of the Occupational Therapy leadership team across the Mental Health and Learning Disabilities Division and will receive professional supervision from the joint professional head of Occupational therapy for adult mental health.
The postholder, needs to understand the role of Occupational Therapy in Primary Care Mental Health Services. They need to have the analytical and critical thinking skills to produce and present a written report outlining the findings of the exercise.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will consider and make use of the current evidence base, benchmarking from across Wales and the wider UK, locally sourced data and will gather insights from people accessing the service and Primary Care colleagues.
The scoping exercise will take place over a period of 12 months. The position is a fixed term or secondment opportunity. Those applying for a secondment must seek permission from their line manager before applying.
