Job summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic paediatrician to fill this part-time replacement post. Paediatric services within Gwent have been re-designed, with an expansion of community services and a new specialist critical care centre, where acute services are located. Your duties will mainly be undertaken at Ystrad Fawr Hospital, where office space and secretarial support are available and 3 other community paediatricians are based.
Applicants without a driving license must be able to travel between health board premises within a reasonable timescale to fulfil the requirements of the post.Free parking is available across all our sites.
Both Cardiff and Bristol are within 30 minutes' drive from Newport, and the Brecon Beacons, Black Mountains and Gower Peninsula are all easily accessible for great recreational opportunities.

Main duties of the job
You will be medical advisor for South East Wales Adoption Service (SEWAS) West, covering the boroughs of Caerphilly and Newport and work alongside our other medical advisor covering SEWAS East.
You will contribute to the pan Gwent Child Protection Rota (Monday - Friday only, with no out of hours responsibilities), with medical examinations undertaken at The Grange University Hospital.
