Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Project Officer in Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI), to support the Health Board's Strategic Equality Plan, by supporting the progression, monitoring and evaluation of our EDI objectives and increasing communications to engage and inform staff, patients and our wider communities.
This is a key role within the Workforce and Organisational Development Team that requires a highly motivated individual with excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to interpret complex information and report findings to different audiences. Excellent organisational and communication skills are also essential to support the delivery and implementation of a wide range of projects.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
Promoting, supporting and coordinating the mainstreaming of equality, diversity, inclusion and human rights-based policy and practice across all Health Board functions and services through the development, review and monitoring of a Strategic Equality Plan and Objectives.
Supporting the development of culturally competent, clinical and non-clinical services throughout the Health Board by providing appropriate advice, support and guidance to managers and staff regarding their equality, diversity and inclusion duties.
Raising the profile of equality, diversity and inclusion across the organisation and building capacity at all levels to deliver on equality objectives.
Develop and deliver a programme of awareness raising and bespoke training to all staff working across the Health Board and liaise with commissioned external bodies that provide training in more specialised areas in relation to protected groups and legal areas, as required.
Lead on the development of the Health Board's Staff Diversity Networks.
Acting as an ambassador within the Health Board, actively promoting and assisting with the creation of a positive organisational culture, image and environment around fairness, diversity and inclusion.
