Job summary

Aneurin Bevan University Health Board has an exciting opportunity to join our Facilities team at St Cadocs Hospital as a Business Support Administrator.

As a member of the Minor Works Team, the post holder will provide efficient, effective and confidential administrative and telephony support for the Minor Works Team. The post holder will provide general administrative support contributing to the efficient operation of the Minor Works Team.

The post holder will be instrumental in providing administrative support to the Minor Works Office and the Minor Works Manager and supervisors, including diary management and general office administrative duties, with the opportunity for development of additional Business administration skills.

The post holder will be expected to work flexibly in order to ensure the smooth running of the responsible department.

Main duties of the job

  • Ensuring the designated administrative workload is carried out efficiently and effectively. This will include prioritising own workload and evaluating ongoing activity to ensure targets are met.
  • Use excellent interpersonal and communication skills in verbal and written interactions.
  • Maintain an efficient and effective filing system, both personally and across the shared drive.
  • Act as a point of contact for telephone calls and queries for the Minor Works Team as required, ensuring that effective systems are in place to deal with and forward to the relevant member of the team appropriately.
  • Ensure provision and maintenance of suitable audio, visual, electronic equipment, reporting faults as necessary.
  • To work within the Governance and Health and Safety standards of the Directorate and Organisation.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
