Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity within ABUHB CAMHS to recruit a Family and Systemic Psychotherapist to cover maternity leave within our Community Embedded team (CET) until August 2024.

CET provide multidisciplinary assessment, consultation and interventions to children, young people, their families and the network around. CET practice is closely aligned with the NEST/Nyth principals, supporting formulation and network understanding of individual's emotional wellbeing needs. The team engage in collaborative care planning to influence positive change for the child and those most proximal to them.

You will work alongside other CAMHS teams across all tiers of the service and be part of skilled and experienced team of RMNs, Social Worker, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapist and Medics.

We are looking for candidates that have some experience of working with children and young people who have experienced emotional distress.

The post holder will have excellent communication skills, able to develop and maintain positive relationships with service users, CAMHS colleagues and staff from education, local authority and the third sector.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

This post is fixed term until the end of August 2024 to meet the needs of the service.

Main duties of the job

To provide a highly specialist systemic therapy service in the community to young people and their families and input into the Single Point of Access for Emotional (SPACE) Wellbeing & Mental Health Team in the community. This is a primary facing post offering episodes of care, comprehensive assessments, and evidence based interventions and treatment packages to a wide variety of clinical presentations andthe post holder will be based in the community to do this.

This will include mainly parent and family work, group work and other evidence based interventions. You will also provide one day a week of input to the Core Specialist CAMHS Team. When necessary the post holder would meet with patients and families within their ownhomes.

To provide highly specialist systemic therapy with both individuals and family groups with clinical autonomy drawing on a range of models and on basis of clinical needs.

To practice in a way which is inclusive and considerate of the needs of each individual in the system including family members and their varying developmental stages and current emotional state.

The Post Holder will provide advice, consultation and supervision to members of the wider CAMHS service and to other professionals.
