Assistant Resuscitation Practitioner Band 6

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, dynamic person who has a strong interest in resuscitation training to join ABUHB Resuscitation as a band 6 Assistant Resuscitation Practitioner, to cover maternity leave for 12 months.

The post requires a motivated individual who has a demonstrable interest in resuscitation, cardiac arrest prevention and teaching. You should be able to work independently and have a flexible approach to work within a small team. Teaching resuscitation to all members of Health Board staff is a primary requirement of the post.

The successful candidate will be a Registered Nurse/ODP and have post registration acute care experience. They will ideally be an Immediate and/or Advanced Life Support Course instructor, or willing to undertake ILS instructor training within the first 3 months in post. Relevant resuscitation experience is essential.

The post holder will be a registered nurse/ODP with extensive acute care experience and management of acutely unwell patients in acute clinical environments; and will adhere to their Professional Code of Conduct.

The successful candidate will be based at St. Woolos Hospital, however they will be required to work across other Health Board sites. This will require access to own vehicle to be able to transport training equipment between sites in a timely manner.

Main duties of the job

PLEASE NOTE THAT WE WILL ONLY ACCEPT APPLICATIONS FROM STAFF CURRENTLY EMPLOYED BY ANEURIN BEVAN UNIVERSITY HEALTH BOARD.

Responsible to support the Resuscitation team in the delivery of resuscitation training programmes to organisational staff to ensure they are trained to a level that meets mandatory Basic Life Support training requirements whilst also delivering Immediate and Advanced Life Support courses (adult, paediatric and neonatal). This will include training medical, nursing, allied healthcare professionals and other organisational employees who are required to have resuscitation skills as part of their employment within ABUHB.

Support the deteriorating patient agenda through the provision of education and team collaboration. This will include supporting the delivery of deteriorating patient recognition and management training programmes to a variety of healthcare professionals and providers.

Undertake audit relating to resuscitation, completing with a high level of rigor, and the ability to utilise electronic methods of data input with a high degree of accuracy and detail.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
