Job summary

The Aneurin Bevan University Health Board is recruiting for a talented, experienced and enthusiastic Arts in Health Project Officer to work closely with the Arts Development Manager and wider team to plan and deliver the Health Board's Arts In Health strategy and partnership projects including Arts & Minds (ACW/Baring Foundation). This role is an excellent opportunity to develop skills and experience through supporting and delivering AIH projects in a wide variety of health settings working with our patients, staff and community.

This role is a continuation of the AIH Project Officer post supported initially by the Arts Council of Wales and now embedded within our AIH team, and is vital to supporting the delivery of our AIH strategy and project managing the current ACW/Baring Foundation Arts & Minds project.

The post holder will work with the Arts Development Manager to deliver a variety of projects and initiatives that aim to embed and disseminate best practice in Arts In Health in Primary, Scheduled and Unscheduled Care, Mental Health provision and community settings.

The role requires a professional project management approach that involves considerable responsibility for co-ordinating projects and activities across the Health Board, engaging with staff, external stakeholders and corporate partners. The post holder will be expected to manage their own time and workload, delivering to set deadlines and working effectively within a busy team.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work closely with the Arts Development Manager to deliver the health board's arts strategy, embedding and progressing a consistent programme of quality and evidence-based participatory arts projects in primary, secondary and community health care settings. Key to the role will be the ongoing identification and enabling of opportunities to maintain positive, welcoming, nurturing and energising environments for delivering healthcare that reflect the cultures and communities that we serve. This will include ensuring that staff are supported and confident in using arts & creativity in the workplace.

This post will also support creativity in mental health projects working alongside teams who work in acute and community settings and creative practitioners to deliver the current stream of Arts & Minds, funded by Baring Foundation.
