Aneurin Bevan University Health Board (ABUHB) has a large and complex ICT service that underpins the delivery of digital health care. ICT supports around 16,000 users and over 200 services across more than 120 sites. The adoption and expectations placed upon digital healthcare are expected to grow substantially as the health board adopts mobility both in primary and secondary care settings.
Aneurin Bevan University Health Board seeks a forward thinking and enthusiastic infrastructure architect, able to horizon scan with a wide-angle view of the possibilities of emerging digital infrastructure technologies and a desire to make a difference for clinicians and patients.
The role of lead infrastructure architect is an exciting opportunity to join the ICT senior management team to develop and establish the Health Board ICT Infrastructure standards.
You will contribute to the delivery of healthcare for people within the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board area, by ensuring that the University Health Board's ICT Infrastructure is designed, procured, implemented, and assured to optimal standards.
Main duties of the job
- Responsible for developing the ICT infrastructure standards. The post holder will work closely with Head of ICT, Design Team and Head of Enterprise Architecture to implement the standards.
- As part of the ICT senior management team, the post holder will ensure that ABUHB and national plans are aligned, work closely with national teams, suppliers, and other service providers to understand and interpret the direction and national standards for infrastructure and related services.
- Working alongside the application design team to provide assurance, guidance and subject matter expertise to local programmes and projects, as part of the evaluation, discovery & definition, and transition of new service requests, ensuring the ICT infrastructure can support any proposed solutions through to delivery, ensuring there is no conflict with existing standards and solutions.
- A key element of the role will be to "horizon scan", with a focus on delivery of ICT services in line with continually changing technology and approaches within the ICT sector.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
