The ability to work collaboratively with children, young people and families towards co-created goals is essential to this role.

The post sits within two teams. Firstly, the Children's Centre Psychology service, which works proactively to promote the psychological wellbeing of children and young people with developmental delay or disability, their families and the staff who support them. This post is based in Nevill Hall Children's Centre. Secondly, the Child and Adolescent Learning Disabilities Service (CALDS), which works across Gwent to promote quality of life and psychological understanding of the needs of children and young people with learning disabilities in distress, their families and the often complex systems that support them.

The successful candidate will join a lively and proactive team of Child Psychologists and Therapists. We meet weekly for professional support and peer supervision and value a culture of reflective practice and rich continuing professional development.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

  2. Provision of psychological support, consultation and joint working with staff and families
  3. Therapeutic work with children and young people with developmental delay or disability and their families through individual work, family work and therapeutic groups
