Primary Care Occupational Therapist - Band 6/ 7 Development Post

We are pleased to offer a new and exciting opportunity that would suit an experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapists wishing to progress and work towards becoming a Band 7 Advanced Practice Occupational Therapist. We will support you to enhance your skills and gain experience so that you can progress to working at a level required for a Band 7 position on achievement of specified competencies. As you achieve your competencies, you will gain knowledge, skills and experience across all pillars of practice.

Candidates already meeting the requirements to be appointed at a Band 7 Level are also encouraged to apply and if successful will be appointed at the appropriate grade.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work alongside an Advanced Practice Occupational Therapist working within the Primary Care multidisciplinary team across the Newport West Neighbourhood Care Network (NCN)

This may include people coping with the impact of long-term conditions, people experiencing difficulties at work/college, low level of anxiety/depression or those who may be socially isolated. Alongside this you will be promoting the awareness and understanding of Occupational Therapy with the public, primary care colleagues and the wider multidisciplinary team.

  • Band 7 - Master's level study (CQFW level 7)

Desirable

  • Band 7 - Member of relevant RCOT Specialist Section
  • Band 7 - Certificate in Leadership and/or Management.

Experience

Essential

  • Band 7 - Extensive experience of working in primary care and/or a broad range of services settings.
  • Band 7 - Experience of assessment and intervention in mental health occupational therapy practice.

Desirable

  • Band 7 - Experience of research and/or audit.
