Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Intelligence Analyst within the Business Intelligence Unit (BIU) in the Information Services department.
Participating in the provision of high-quality business intelligence services, the post holder will work as part of a team of developers and analysts to support programmes of work that run across all areas of the Health Board.
As a member of the fast-paced, dynamic and innovative BIU, the Business Intelligence Analyst will support the Senior Business Intelligence Analyst and Senior Health Analyst. The role will allow you to build on your current skills and experience and provide you with opportunities for personal and professional development.
This demanding and challenging post requires excellent analytical, numeracy and organisational skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, hard-working, highly motivated team member.
Main duties of the job
The Business Intelligence Analyst will develop the skills to produce analysis, reports and business intelligence applications (Qlik Sense, Visual Studio, Standard Query Language (SQL), etc) to support operational, resource management, business planning and the corporate requirements of the Health Board, using appropriate and effective data visualisations.
The post holder will support the Senior Business Intelligence Analyst to promote the use and development of BI solutions, and will become fully conversant in patient related data, how to extract it, its uses and the relevance to information standards.
The post holder will be part of a continuous learning and development culture benefiting from ongoing in-house training and development to enhance skills.
A flexible approach is essential as is the need to be self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks / objectives. The role will require attention to detail, strong relationships with colleagues and the curiosity to understand the problem, with a developing knowledge of the subject.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
