Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated, dynamic and experienced individual to join the Divisional Nurse team for Scheduled Care within Aneurin Bevan University Health Board.
The Assistant Divisional Nurse will help lead the operational, strategic and professional agenda alongside the Head of Nursing and Divisional Nurse, demonstrating strong leadership skills. The Assistant Divisional Nurse is responsible for supporting the Head of Nursing and Divisional Nurse, managing their delegated responsibility for the financial, physical and human resources within Scheduled Care. They will be an integral part of the Senior Nursing and Senior Management Team within Scheduled Care division, driving and supporting the strategic direction of nursing.
Key aspects of this role will be supporting the implementation of the corporate nursing agenda along with the developing divisional priorities
The successful candidate will show passion for patient centred care, staff development and service improvement.
Main duties of the job
The Assistant Divisional Nurse role will provide strong clinical and professional leadership, being a clearly visible and supportive role model and professionally accountable for the delivery of high quality, safe and effective care, and the successful individual, alongside the divisional nurse, will take a lead in driving forward a positive culture of robust governance and service improvement.
To succeed in this role, you will need to inspire and motivate a diverse and specialist workforce, including surgery, critical care, theatres and Orthopaedics, build excellent relationships through good communication skills and have a strong eye for detail and for professional standards. You must be willing to embrace a broad range of new challenges and possess the knowledge and drive to create and deliver innovative opportunities for service delivery and patient care.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post. Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
