Job summary
Hafan Deg Ward is based in Ty Siriol Unit, County Hospital. Hafan Deg Ward is a 20 bedded Acute Older Adult Mental Health Unit for males and females over the age of 65 living in the ABUHB area. The ward consists of single bedrooms, some with en-suite facilities. The unit specialises in the assessment, care and treatment of people experiencing a variety of mental health problems. All patients admitted to the unit will be allocated a named nurse who will be responsible for co-ordinating their care whilst they are an inpatient. A team of staff will review the plan of care and agree the future care plan. The unit has an active occupational therapy programme which provides activities on the unit and in the local community. These activities assist to structure the patient's time but also enable the staff to assess the patient's needs and functioning. The family/carer will be involved in planning discharge to meet the person's needs. The ward supports John's Campaign and has open visiting hours.

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Qualified mental health nurse to join the Hafan Deg Ward team. We are based in Ty Siriol Unit, County Hospital. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
