Aneurin Bevan University Health Board maternity services is currently seeking newly qualified band 5 midwives, or those who are currently working within their preceptorship period to join our busy team at The Grange University Hospital. With approximately 5500 birth per year we offer an extensive preceptorship package where newly qualified midwives will be supported to develop skills and gain experience in both obstetric and midwife led care.

Main duties of the job

Aneurin Bevan University Health Board maternity services is currently seeking newly qualified band 5 midwives to join our busy team at The Grange University Hospital. With approximately 5500 births per year we offer an extensive preceptorship package where newly qualified midwives will be supported to develop skills and gain experience in both obstetric and midwife led care. This is a very exciting time to join Aneurin Bevan University Health Board, as we moved our obstetric services to The Grange University Hospital in November 2020. Within the Grange University Hospital maternity services offer obstetric led care, high dependency care and there is an alongside midwife led unit for pool birth. In addition there are midwife led birthing areas at Ysbyty Aneurin Bevan, Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr.

This is an integrated post and will provide you with the opportunity to support key services in the maternity unit and to ensure high quality, safe care for women during their pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period.
